The Role - Chief Executive Officer 

The firm seeks a dynamic individual with the requisite investment experience, exposure in people development and the strategic ability to catapult the firm to the next level of growth.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for the overall management of all aspects of the organization from operations to business development. 

Reporting to the Group Managing Director and Board of Directors, the CEO will oversee all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to running the brokerage. 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Planning

  • Collaborate with the board to define and articulate the organization’s vision and to develop strategies for achieving that vision
  • Create annual operating plans that support strategic direction set by the board and correlate with annual operating budgets; submits annual plans to the board for approval
  • Develops and monitors strategies for ensuring the long-term financial viability of the organization
  • Develop future leadership within the organization

2. Management

  • Oversee the operations of organization and manage its compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Create and maintain procedures for implementing plans approved by the board of directors
  • Promote a culture that reflects the organization’s values, encourages good performance, and rewards productivity
  • Offer direction and leadership to human resource management according to authorized HR policies and procedures that fully conform to current laws and regulations
  • Evaluate the organization’s and the staff’s performance on a regular basis
  • Ensure that the Board of Directors has sufficient and up-to-date information.

3. Financial management

  • Oversee staff in developing annual budgets that support operating plans and submit budgets for board approval
  • Prudently manage the organization's resources within budget guidelines according to current laws and regulations
  • Ensures that staff practices all appropriate accounting procedures in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Other Qualifications

  • Relevant work experience of at least seven (7) years in Management, five (5) of which must be at a senior managerial level in a reputable Financial Services organization with  demonstrated high degree of professional competence;
  • Excellent business awareness within the financial services industry. Prior experience in the Investment Banking, Retail Marketing, Corporate Finance, Treasury & Bond Trading desirable;
  • Organised, numerate, analytical with at least three years hands on experience using reputable financial management software;
  • Very familiar with Capital Markets Authority regulations;
  • Ability to prioritise and delegate on a wide range of deliverables at once;
  • Demonstrated administrative capability required for formulation of policies, good interpersonal relations, high leadership qualities and integrity.

PATH seeks to recruit two Procurement Officers who will handle, coordinate and manage procurement of goods and services for the APHIAplus project activities in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining high standards of accountability. S/he will be in charge of ensuring that procurement documentation is used in accordance with USAID and PATH guidelines and procedures.
 
The main responsibilities include:
  • Manage the procurement process and ensure it is carried out in accordance with both the donor and PATH requirements.
  • Coordinate annual evaluation of suppliers.
  • Facilitate the management of relationships with major suppliers for timely performance of the procurement process in the acquisition of quality assured commodities.
  • Work closely with the procurement team and assist in the preparation and execution of contract mechanisms, including purchase orders.

Position Description:
 
The Communications Specialist is tasked with gathering information to prepare documents for regular communication with project stakeholders. S/he will regularly develop materials for project staff working around the country, project stakeholders and the client for dissemination as appropriate.

Specific Duties:
  • Work closely with the chief of party (COP) to implement a strategy for communications and action plan to be updated annually;
  • Manage the production of all communication and public awareness activities, including set up of required templates and systems, and work with communications consultants;
  • Develop communications content for the Kenya Pharma project, including success stories, project news for the project website, the e-bulletin for project staff in the field, best practices documents to share with Government of Kenya partners and other documents as outlined in the communications strategy or identified by the COP;
  • Ensure all communications and project materials are branded in accordance with USAID and Kenya Pharma project guidelines;
  • Serve as moderator for the project’s social networking sites, which include Facebook, Twitter and Flickr;

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Degree in communications, marketing, international studies, public health or related area required;
  • Ability to produce lucid documents in English language a must;
  • Experience doing communications work for USAID project a plus;
  • Minimum of 6-8 years experience developing program communications strategies and documents required (work on health or HIV/AIDS programs a plus);
  • Ability to work with a multi-cultural team in a fast-paced environment, managing several assignments and meet deadlines;
  • Excellent organizational skills; and
